FIRST CLASS SCOUT

By now you should know how to approach the victim of an accident, how to treat hurry cases, and how to plan what to do next. (See "Fist Aid," beginning on page 287) The first aid requirements for First Class will add to your skill in bandaging wounds, transporting injured persons, recognizing signs of heart attack, and understanding cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

8b. Demonstrate bandages for a sprained ankle and for injuries on the head, the upper arm, and the collarbone. (See chapter 11, First Aid," pages 309, 316-317)

8c. Show how to transport by yourself, and with one other person, a person

8d. Tell the five most common signs of a heart attack. Explain the steps (procedures] in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). (For common signs of a heart attack, see chapter 11, "First Aid," page 298)
