Your Responsibility to Yourself

An understanding of wholesome sexual behavior can bring lifelong
happiness. Irresponsibility or ignorance, however, can cause a lifetime
of regret. AIDS and other diseases spread by sexual contact can ruin your
health and that of others. An unplanned pregnancy before you are ready
could severely limit your chances for education, occupations, and travel.

You owe it to yourself to enter adulthood without extra hurdles to
overcome. Learn what is right. Your religious leaders can give you moral
guidance. Your parents or guardian or other responsible adults can provide
the facts about sex that you must know.

If you have questions about growing up, about relationships, or about
sex, ask. Talk with your parents, religious leaders, teachers, or Scoutmaster.
They want what is best for you. Let them know your concerns.
