CITIZENSHIP

WHAT A COMMUNITY GIVES YOU
DO YOU CHEER for a sports team in your town? Are you pleased when
your school band marches in a parade? Are you proud of the troop number
on the sleeve of your Scout shirt? That's because you know you
belong. You are a part of that team, that school, and that troop.
You probably feel the same way about your community. You're glad
to say, "I am from that place." You can take pride in your neighborhood,
and rightly so. It is your home. It gives you an identity. It provides the
support, safety, and services you need.
Suppart
At a coun of honor, you've known the warmth of having your friends and
family watch you receive a new badge. If you play on a sports team, you
understand how good it feels to have local fans cheer you on. When you
do your best in school, your neighbors migbt give you a pat on the back.
