Touching

A snake flickng out its tongue is picking up vibrations in the air. Nerves running along the bodies of fish alert them to changes in the water. Moles, opossums, and earthworms rely more upon touch than upon their other senses. Even animals with keen eyesight or finely tuned noses are aware of the feel of things around them.
