The NESA journal, Eagletter, highlights the accomplishments of members and brings news of Eagle Scout activities to readers. Applications for joining NESA are available at local council service centers.
YOUTH TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Many councils offer National Youth Leadership Training, a six-day training experience for youth who hold a leadership position in their troops. NYLT enhances leadership skills in an outdoor environment. Youth will experience training in communication skills, goal setting, team development, problem solving, and making ethical decisions. Additional training, offered at Philmont Scout Ranch, includes a train-the-trainer program that enhances presentation skills and team building. A participant must be nominated by his local council and then invited by the Chief Scout Executive to attend.
