How to do the Heimlich Maneuver
Food caught in the ghtroat is like a cork stuck in t eneck of a plastic bottle. Nothing can get in, but squeeze the botle the right way and the cork will pop out. That's the principle behind the Heimlich maneuver.
Here's how to do it:
1 Stand behind the victim. Put your arms around his waist and clasp your hands togheterh. The knuckel of the thumb should be just above his navel but below his rib cage.
2. Thrust you clasped hands winward and up ward with enough force to pop loose the obstruction.
3. Repeat this Heimlich maneuver until the obstruction clears or medical help arrives
